  • No Unauthorised Access: Do not attempt to enter restricted courses or bypass security measures.

  • Not an Enrolled Student: Guest access does not grant enrolment, institutional affiliation, or access to student services.

ABC VLE Guest Access Policy

This policy outlines the terms and conditions for guest access to our learning platform. Guests are individuals who access course content without a full registered user account. This includes enrolled students from other institutions, auditors, visitors, or users with temporary access.

By accessing the site as a guest, you agree to comply with the following rules:

1. Limited Access Rights

  • Guest access is restricted to specific courses or resources as determined by the course instructor or administrator.
  • Guests cannot enrol in courses permanently, submit assignments, receive grades, or participate fully in interactive activities (e.g., forums, quizzes) unless explicitly permitted.
  • Access may be time-limited and can be revoked at any time.

2. No Username or Password Required (if applicable)

  • Some guest access may be granted without login (open access), while others may require a temporary password or enrolment key.
  • If a guest password is used, it must not be shared with unauthorised individuals.

3. Acceptable Use

As a guest, you must:

  • Use the platform only for viewing educational content and personal learning.
  • Refrain from downloading, copying, distributing, or modifying course materials without permission.
  • Avoid disruptive behaviour, including posting inappropriate content or attempting to access restricted areas.
  • Respect the intellectual property of instructors and the institution.

4. No Privacy Expectation

  • All guest activity (e.g., pages viewed, time spent) may be logged for security, usage analysis, and instructional improvement.
  • While we respect user privacy, guests should be aware that anonymity is not guaranteed.

5. Prohibited Activities

Guests must not:

  • Attempt to bypass access restrictions or gain unauthorised entry to courses or user data.
  • Use automated tools (e.g., scripts, bots) to scrape or extract content.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation with the institution.

6. Termination of Access

The institution reserves the right to:

  • Disable guest access at any time, without notice.
  • Block IP addresses or devices engaged in misuse.
  • Report serious violations to appropriate authorities. 

7. No Endorsement

Guest access does not constitute enrolment, affiliation, or endorsement by the institution. It does not grant access to institutional services (e.g., email, library databases, student support).

8. Agreement

By continuing as a guest, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please exit the site immediately.
